VT 160 Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy emphasizes the construction of meaning as a central theme of therapy. It highlights the influence of language and social context in understanding a problem. Dr. Corrales helps us experience the essence of this approach to treatment.

VT 170 Carl Rogers: The Essence of Client Centered Therapy

The name Carl Rogers has been prominent in the helping professions for over sixty years. Rogerian, client centered, non directive therapy began a movement away from and beyond the "medical model" of treatment and Freudian analytic therapy that had dominated therapy during the first half of the 20th Century. Rogers, more than any other person, is credited for introducing and exchanging the term "client" for that of "patient". The human potential movement traces its origins to his work

VT 180 Jung Revisited: A Historical and Conceptual Review

Dr. Corrales and Dr. Rhodes present an introduction to the major concepts of Jungian psychology. The viewer who is new to Jung will find the biographical sketch helpful in placing Jung historically in the development of the field of psychotherapy , and more specifically as to his relationship to Freud.

VT 190 THE CONGRUENT MARRIAGE:
A Videotaped Demonstration
(38 minutes)
In this videotape, Ramon G. Corrales, Ph.D. demonstrates how to begin the process of developing a congruent relationship. The process of congruence is attained when all "parts" run together toward a common vision. Dr. Corrales shares a surprisingly learnable framework for starting couples off on the road to personal and relational congruence.

VT 200 Virginia Satir Revisited
An Appreciation and Understanding of Her Work
(41 minutes)
Engaging his own integral approach to therapy, Ramon G. Corrales, Ph.D. brings us new insight into the work of Virginia Satir. Drawing from the work of Kathy Kolbe, he adds another important dimension to our understanding. Corrales suggests that a Kolbe assessment of Virginia would have evidenced a modest to low levels in the areas of "Fact Finding" and "Follow Thru" with higher levels in the areas of "Quick Start" (innovator) and "Implementor". With these referents to the Kolbe System, Dr. Corrales makes breakthrough observations about Satir's core personality.
